Roll Out the Red Carpet for Special K Popcorn Chips
Hollywood Stylist Leslie Fremar Partners with New Movie Night Snack to Share Tips & Trends to Help Canadian Woman Shine

MISSISSAUGA, ON, August 27, 2013 – In a matter of days, the film festival will be upon us and Toronto’s sidewalks will be teeming with stargazers eager to catch a glimpse of their favourite Hollywood A-listers. Just in time for film fest season and to help Canadian women prepare for their own red carpet moments, new Kellogg’s Special K Popcorn Chips have partnered with famed Hollywood stylist, Leslie Fremar, to share her expert and sought-after tips for getting red carpet ready.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re an A-List celebrity walking the red carpet at the film fest, or getting ready for a fun night out with the girls, as women we all like to make sure that the perfect dress fits just right and that we’re confident in the way we look and feel,” says Fremar, the mastermind behind celebrity style icons Charlize Theron, Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Connelly, to name only a few. “Confidence is a key ingredient, if not the most essential ingredient, to looking and feeling your very best when the spotlight is on.”

Coveted in celebrity circles for her unrivaled eye and exquisite style sensibility, Fremar, a Toronto native who now splits her time between New York and Los Angeles, recommends taking these simple yet important steps to shine like her celebrity clientele on the red carpet:

  1. Rest Up. Make sure to get a good night sleep. Rest is one of my favourite beauty secrets.
  2. Exercise, Eat Well & Stay Hydrated. You always feel red carpet ready if you’re feeling good about yourself and have a positive self-image. That means making every effort to get regular exercise and stay hydrated. Making smart food choices leading up to a walk down the red carpet can also go a long way towards putting you in a ‘best dressed’ frame of mind.
  3. Pamper yourself. Carve out some down-time for yourself. Take a long bath, do a face mask, moisturize. Just be sure to steer clear of trying any new beauty products the day of an event. Go with what you know.

The Perfect Movie Night Snack
This September, as the stars walk the red carpet, Canadians will not only be keeping an eye out for emerging style trends, but will also be adding new films to their ‘must see’ lists. And, whether they’re being viewed on the silver screen or the small screen, popcorn is sure to be the snack of choice. In fact, according to the Kellogg’s Special K Popcorn Chips Red Carpet Ready Survey conducted recently on the Angus Reid Forum, nearly 60 per cent of Canadians say that popcorn is their go-to movie night snack. The evening hours are often when cravings strike and can be the hardest to resist, driving Canadians to make snacking decisions they’ll regret and making staying on track a challenge.
In fact, over 30 per cent of Canadian women who indulge in movie-time snacking do so even though they know they will regret it later.

The good news is that evening snacking doesn’t need to result in a guilty conscience. Hot on the heels of the successful launch of Kellogg’s Special K Cracker Chips, new Kellogg’s Special K Popcorn Chips give movie buffs the freedom to satisfy their love of popcorn and their sweet and savoury cravings without breaking the calorie bank. And, with two varieties that provide irresistible taste for popcorn lovers – Butter and Sweet & SaltyKellogg’s Special K Popcorn Chips deliver satisfying crunch and only 80 calories per serving of 20 popcorn chips, making staying on track easier than ever.

“For many women, snacking can feel like a no-win situation. They either satisfy their craving in the moment with a high calorie, sweet or savoury snack they know they’ll regret, or they begrudgingly choose a bland, low-calorie option that leaves them completely unsatisfied,” says Natasha Millar, Director, Adult Brands, Kellogg Canada Inc. “New Special K Popcorn Chips make it easier than ever for women to choose a delicious, sensible snack option that satisfies their movie-night snack cravings yet helps them stay on track.”

Kellogg’s Special K Popcorn Chips are made from corn and popped, not fried. They provide full popcorn flavour to satisfy snack cravings and enable movie-night snackers to feel good about their sensible food choice. New Kellogg’s Special K Popcorn Chips are available now in grocery and convenience stores across Canada.
