Pringles #MysteryChallenge has Canadian Super Sleuths Stumped
Canadians invited to satisfy their taste for mystery by identifying the top-secret flavour

Mississauga, ON (July 11, 2017) – Canada, it’s time to get your Sherlock on! There’s a covert chip challenge to crack and the answer may be right on the tip of your tongue.

It may come as no surprise but, according to the recent Pringles Mystery survey**, the majority of Canadians love a good mystery. In fact, 82 per cent of us seek out mystery as a form of entertainment. And 90 per cent of Canadians believe that adding an element of mystery makes almost anything more interesting and fun!

Now, Pringles is giving Canadians more of what they want by bringing the thrill of mystery from entertainment to “eat-ertainment” with the introduction of Pringles Mystery Flavour Chips and the Pringles #MysteryChallenge. Pringles Mystery Flavour Chips fire up the flavour fun with a delicious top-secret taste that is available in specially-marked cans for a limited time only. Canadians are invited to put their tastebuds to the test and try to identify the new Pringles flavour before the contest ends on December 31, 2017. All super sleuths who guess the correct flavour will have the chance to win $10,000.

WTF:  What’s the Flavour?
The Pringles #MysteryChallenge builds on Pringles “You Don’t Just Eat ‘Em” attitude that has created party tricks like the classic ducklips and the epic Pringles Ringle. According to company experts, this taste-defying challenge is tough because this is no chip off the old block. The moment you try your first Pringles Mystery Flavour Chip you immediately recognize the flavour, but what is it? It’s so close you can taste it. It’s familiar yet somehow so complex that it’s going to take all of your savoury sleuthing skills to deconstruct the fusion of flavours and find the solution. Some of us will relish the challenge, but if the flavour quest becomes overwhelming, Canadians can chip away at the mystery by examining flavour clues released by Pringles on Facebook and Twitter.

“Pringles has always been about having fun,” says Jeff Chatterton, Director, Snacks & Frozen at Kellogg Canada Inc. “Our fans expect something unique from Pringles, so instead of just introducing a new chip flavour, we are embracing Canadians’ love of mystery and involving them in an interactive journey to the big reveal. We’re encouraging everyone to take a bite out of mystery and share a flavour guess on social media. With a big prize on the line, this is a chance to put our money where your mouth is.”

How to Enter the Pringles #MysteryChallenge
Pringles is inviting all would-be Canadian taste detectives to take part in the Pringles #MysteryChallenge for a chance to win $10,000!  To enter, flavour sleuths must:

  • Try Pringles Mystery Flavour Chips for yourself
  • Follow Pringles on Twitter and Facebook for all the latest breaking clues. Pringles will be posting a new flavour clue each week from July 2 to August 21.
  • Post your guess in the clue comments on Facebook using #MysteryChallenge. For Twitter, become a follower of @PringlesCA, share your guess using #MysteryChallenge, and tag @PringlesCA. You can guess as many times as you want (up to a maximum of one time per day), so keep tasting and trying.

Don’t forget to enter your flavour guess online by the end of the year (December 31, 2017; 11:59 pm) — before the ‘chip’ has sailed. All correct guesses will be entered for the chance to win. Full contest details can be found at http://bit.ly/1LvFf9h.
